Welcome, Sorrento Families!
My name is Amanda (Amy) Carpenter, and I am so excited to join Sorrento Elementary School as an Assistant Principal. I have teaching experiences in grades K-5, and I have served as a middle school Literacy Coach, Region 1 Curriculum Specialist 6-12, and Intervention Specialist K-12 with Lake County Schools.
I graduated from the University of Central Florida and the University of West Florida, earning a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in ESOL and Reading K-12 and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership.
My husband and I have a blended family with five amazing kiddos and two Maltipoo pups, Vinny and Jules, all of whom keep us busy. We love to travel, play golf, and do fun activities with our family. I am grateful to be to joining such a wonderful school community and look forward to partnering with you as we embark on this school year.
My name is Lori Myers and I have been an educator for over 20 years. I have served as an Elementary Teacher, ESE and Gifted Teacher, Reading Teacher, Literacy Coach, and Assistant Principal. I am grateful to continue my journey at Sorrento Elementary.
I am a graduate of Simpson College (Iowa) and Stetson University for which I have earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in early childhood and reading, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership.
I am truly honored to be a part of a school family with such passion and dedication. I share the Sorrento Elementary vision that all children are capable of success and look forward to fostering the potential in our students. With the talent of our teachers and support staff, and commitment from our families, our students will thrive on their road to success.
